In the first module participants will gain a high level understanding of the eLearning system and its components, as well as an introduction to the ADDIE development cycle. In modules 2-6 we explore each step of ADDIE in more detail, guiding participants through developing courses with the Opening Minds tools.
Module 1: Overview of eLearning Development
- Get an overview of the Opening Minds leaning platform.
- Understand at a high level how content is managed.
- Familiarize yourself with the structure of an LMS course.
- Understand how pages are designed.
- Get an overview of the available interactive components.
- Explore the concept and application of LMS learning triggers in enhancing learner engagement and facilitating program delivery.
Modules 2-6: eLearning ADDIE
- Understand the R&LD ADDIE process of translating learning specialist efforts into LMS courses from inception to delivery, with a focus on iterative improvement and stakeholder feedback.
- Engage in practical exercises to develop storyboarding skills essential in planning and visualizing eLearning courses.
- Familiarize yourself with preparing learning specialist content for building eLearning components.
- Understand and apply ERGA and WIIFM principles in designing effective and appealing eLearning experiences.
- Utilize templates and checklists as tools for ensuring completeness and quality assurance throughout the eLearning development and design process.
